Empowered women, empowering women!
Chartered in 2016, Soroptimist International of Mission Valley is part of a worldwide network of women at their best helping other women to be their best. We believe that, when we improve the lives of women and girls, we start a ripple that changes lives, communities and the world. For nearly 100 years Soroptimists around the globe have been tackling some of the most pressing problems facing the world. Now focused primarily on providing educational opportunities for women and girls, we are removing the barriers that impede women’s progress. The barriers are many, but our motivation is strong. We know that access to education is the key to improving not just a woman’s financial status, but also her health and social well-being and that of her family and community.

We believe in a better world and we are happy to contribute to its creation

April Jack
President 2018 – 2020
“When I heard about Soroptimist and their mission to empower women and girls I immediately knew I had to be a part of it. If we can help one woman or girl improve her life and help get her on a path to happiness and growth then we’re a success, and we’ve helped a lot more than one! Not only that, but I get to volunteer with wonderful women who are now friends and it makes my heart smile.”
Barbara Miller
“I have always been called to give back, especially to women and girls. I love the Soroptimist Dream Programs and supporting women and girls in improving their lives and achieving their goals. I’ve made some great new friends in SIMV and I’m so proud of the work we’ve done and how our Soroptimists locally and internationally are making a difference. This group of ladies inspires me to do more and be more!”

Kathy Blair
Treasurer 2017-2019
“Being a Soroptimist is a very important part of my life. I feel like I have really made a difference in the lives of women and girls, particularly in the area of human trafficking. The friendships I have made will last a lifetime – you couldn’t ask for a better group of women!”

Karen O'Grady
“I joined SI Mission Valley because it has always been part of my personal mission to help women and girls who need it. The unexpected bonus of joining this amazing group of women has been the friendship. I love these ladies!”
